Burlington, Washington - Skagit State Bank is celebrating 50 years of success in the North Puget Sound Region. Founded in 1958 by the late James P. Bishop and other local businessmen, Skagit State Bank remains an independent community bank run by local people, serving local people. Today, Cheryl R. Bishop serves as President and Chief Executive Officer.  

Skagit State Bank History - 50 years ago, James P. Bishop created a community bank that proudly serves its diverse community of customers every day. The first Skagit State Bank office opened on Fairhaven Avenue in Burlington with an open house on June 14, 1958. Founded on the core values of independence, customer service, and community commitment, Skagit State Bank has grown to 13 offices in three counties.

Employee Recognition - Skagit State Bank draws much of its strength from its 191 loyal, well-trained employees, many of whom have built lifelong careers with the bank. Almost 11% of employees have served the bank for over 25 years, nearly 30% have worked for Skagit State Bank for more than 10 years, and 83 bank employees have five or more years of experience with Skagit State Bank.
