NAS Whidbey SAR Rescues Hiker Near Green Mountain
(NAS WHIDBEY ISLAND)- A Search and Rescue (SAR) team from Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island rescued a hiker with traumatic injuries near Green Mountain, June 4, 2019.
The SAR crew arrived in the area, east of Granite Falls, Wash., in the mid-afternoon, where they quickly linked up with local first responders who were attending the hiker, a 48-year-old female.
The injured hiker was hoisted onboard the SAR helicopter and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
NAS Whidbey Island SAR has conducted 18 total missions throughout Washington State this year, including six searches, five rescues and seven medical evacuations.
