WSDOT and Skagit County agencies partner up to host open house for projects, events

(SEDRO-WOOLLEY)– The tulips are beginning to sprout, and hints of spring weather are mixed in with the snow, which means the summer highway construction season is just around the corner.

Next week, the Washington State Department of Transportation and community partners will team up to host an open house to share information about the upcoming work slated for this year and highlight upcoming community events in Skagit County.

The open house will be held from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, at the Sedro-Woolley Community Center, 703 Pacific St.

During the drop-in style open house, WSDOT engineers will be available to answer questions about upcoming paving and resurfacing work on State Route 20 between the cities of Anacortes and Concrete, and update the community on the Fisher Creek fish passage project on Interstate 5. Additionally, members of the public are invited to weigh-in on future projects including the SR 9 Francis Road intersection improvements and the fish passage work on Gribble Creek near Mount Vernon.

Staff from Skagit County, city of Sedro-Woolley, Skagit Transit and Port of Skagit will also be available to discuss local projects and community issues.
