(SKAGIT COUNTY)- There is a call for Applications for the Skagit County Planning Commission, according to a news release from the county.
The Planning Commission works with the Planning and Development Services Department and advises the Department and the Board of County Commissioners on proposed land use plans and regulations in unincorporated Skagit County. In 2026 and 2027, the Planning Commission will focus on siting clean energy facilities, reviewing the annual docket of comprehensive plan, development code, and zoning map amendments, and updating the Critical Areas Ordinance.

The Planning Commission consists of nine members (three from each Commissioner District) and usually meets twice monthly in Mount Vernon at the Commissioner’s Administrative Building. Meetings are broadcast live on Skagit 21 and archived online. More information about the Planning Commission is available at: www.skagitcounty.net/planningcommission.
There is currently one vacancy on the Planning Commission in District 3. This call for applications is for residents who live in District 3 of Skagit County and would like to be considered for a seat on the Planning Commission.
Planning Commissioners serve four-year terms. The applicant nominated for the vacant seat will serve a term which expires on August 31, 2030.
