Drone intrusion at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island’s Ault Field

(NAS WHIDBEY ISLAND)- There was a report of a drone intrusion at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island’s Ault Field shortly after 1 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2026. The drone was detected and rendered inoperable by defense systems, according to a news release from the base. Base security and EOD secured the scene around the intrusion area until EOD was able to determine it did not carry explosives or constituted any other type of threat.
