(SEATTLE)- Colt Emerson, a shortstop who is MLB Pipeline's No. 7 overall prospect, finalized an extension with the Seattle Mariners that will take him through the 2033 season, with a club option for 2034, the club announced on Tuesday, according to mariners.com. The contract is expected to be worth $95 million, sources told MLB.com, surpassing the previous high for a player yet to reach the Majors set by the Brewers’ Jackson Chourio at eight years and $82 million. Emerson's deal also includes a ninth-year club option, a full no-trade clause and escalators that can bring it north of $130 million.
